    Megan Niedermeyer is an associate in the Emerging Companies practice group and a member of Cooley's Business department. She is resident in the San Francisco office. Ms. Niedermeyer has a corporate practice focused on emerging and high-growth companies and venture capital investors. Prior to joining Cooley, Ms. Niedermeyer was an associate at the Silicon Valley office of an international law firm where she focused on cross-border and US-based mergers and acquisitions, venture financings and intellectual property transactions. Ms. Niedermeyer earned her JD from UC Berkeley School of Law, where she was the editor-in-chief of the Berkeley Journal of International Law and a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow. She served as a graduate student instructor at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and was runner up in the Haas Venture Capital Investment Competition. Prior to attending law school, she worked in international development and rule of law, where she designed and managed multi-million dollar legal reform programs in emerging markets based in Washington, DC, the Balkans and Afghanistan. She maintains an active involvement in pro bono matters at the firm, and serves on a roster of election observation experts seconded by the U.S. Department of State to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Ms. Niedermeyer is a member of the State Bar of California and a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy.
